Brooklyn's Cooper Bags NBL Top Batter for September Wednesday, October 1st , 1975 When Jackie Cooper stepped up to the plate in September he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the National Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The young Brooklyn center fielder posted a .429 batting average with 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 26 runs. Cooper also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .483 on-base percentage.
