Pobladores Blank Baltimore, Gould Winner
Saturday, August 26th , 1972
Vern Gould was in a mood to talk following the Los Angeles Pobladores contest against the Baltimore Lords, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Lords, 15-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Gould said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Baltimore on a 4-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.
On the year, Gould has worked 203 innings with 93 strikeouts en route to a 9-9 record and 2.57 ERA.
