Seagulls Move on to World Series Wednesday, October 13th , 1976 The San Francisco Seagulls are on to the World Series, having knocked out the Houston Drillers 4-1. The final blow came tonight at Mission Field, where San Francisco sealed the League Championship Series with a 4-1 triumph. Chuck Roberts was instrumental in the series win and was given MVP honors. Roberts hit .438 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. The San Francisco Seagulls don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pittsburgh Industrials - Denver Burros series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece.
