New York Bats Silenced by Perez
Thursday, August 22nd , 1974
In a seemingly effortless performance, Dario Perez of the Dallas Wranglers shot down the New York Empires, 2-0, on 3 hits.
"Dario was just locating so well and using his pitches," Dallas manager William Albrecht said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Perez recorded 7 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," New York manager Dan Whiting said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, Perez has compiled a 10-12 record with a 3.44 ERA in 26 starts.
