American Circuit Names Rookie of Month Monday, July 1st, 1895 Turner Conklin's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Cincinnati right fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award. During the month he hit .404 with 10 doubles, 1 triple and 2 home runs. Conklin also scored 35 times and drove in 15 runs. This year Conklin is hitting .397, produced 30 RBIs and 3 home runs, scored 58 times and gotten on base at a .470 rate. |
