Atlanta Blanks Detroit Behind White
Thursday, September 19th , 1974
It was not a good day at the plate for the Detroit Wolverines. They came up empty when it mattered against Atlanta Generals right-hander Renie White, who scattered 3 hits across 9 innings and held the Wolverines scoreless.
"We had 3 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Detroit manager Alex Wobbema said later.
White chalked up 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in the 5-0 Generals win.
Checking out his stats for the year, White has racked up 11 wins and 10 losses in 11 starts, posted a 3.44 ERA, and struck out 85 batters in 167.2 innings.
