Brooklyn Out of Playoff Race
Friday, September 27th , 1974
Members of the Brooklyn Bluebirds are left wondering what could have been today, as the team has been eliminated from postseason contention.

"You look back at a handful of games that easily could have gone the other way for us," said third baseman Bob Rawlins. "We really think we were good enough to get to the playoffs this year, so it stings."

The Bluebirds have made the playoffs 15 times in their 92 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1968. In the last 10 seasons, the Bluebirds have only made the playoffs once. Brooklyn last won the World Series in 1929.
