Pittsburgh Pitcher Racks Up Royal Ricketts Award

Pittsburgh's Dennis Visco took home the 1972 National Baseball League Royal Ricketts Award earlier today after a remarkable season on the mound.
With a record of 18-7, Visco was certainly a worthy winner. He made 33 starts and posted 249.2 innings, 184 strikeouts and a 2.20 ERA.
John Gannon of the Denver Burros finished second in voting, while Mel Hartman of the Philadelphia Quakers finished third.
