Pete Morrison of the Detroit Wolverines proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the American Baseball League Most Valuable Player Award.
Morrison hit for a .291 average while collecting 162 hits, 27 doubles, 6 triples, 27 home runs, 82 RBIs and scoring 106 times.
Jorge Luna of the Toronto Hurons finished second in voting, while Duane Simmons of the Detroit Wolverines finished third.
