Big Year for Patrick, Wins ABL Royal Ricketts Award

The San Francisco Seagulls have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Jerry Patrick, this year's American Baseball League Royal Ricketts Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.
Patrick compiled a 21-4 record in 31 starts, tallied 173 strikeouts in 248.1 innings and recorded a 1.96 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .183 batting average against him.
Tim Stambaugh of the San Francisco Seagulls finished second in voting, while Frank Combs of the Atlanta Generals finished third.
