San Francisco's Tapia Takes Home ABL Batting Honors

The San Francisco Seagulls had one hitter who stood out this past season with a dominant performance.
It was left fielder Bobby Tapia, who put up a league best .322 batting average, capturing the 1974 American Baseball League batting title.
The 27-year-old 175 hits, 47 doubles, 2 triples and 13 home runs for the year. In 158 games Tapia totaled 101 RBIs and scored 70 runs.
