Industrials Heading to World Series
Saturday, October 19th , 1974
After their 2-0 win today at Allegheny Field over the San Diego Captains, the Pittsburgh Industrials will advance to the World Series. Pittsburgh won the series by a 4-3 margin.
Leading the way for the Industrials was shortstop Chip Berry, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.
"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."
The Pittsburgh Industrials will play against the Houston Drillers in the next round. Houston won their series against the Baltimore Lords 4 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
