Wranglers Win League Championship Series
Saturday, October 18th , 1975
The joy and relief on the faces of the Dallas Wranglers players was obvious as they celebrated their League Championship Series win over the Houston Drillers.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Dallas right fielder Roger McCoy, shortly after the 7-6 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the World Series.
McCoy won series MVP honors on the strength of his .333 batting average during the series. He also had a .455 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Dallas Wranglers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pittsburgh Industrials - Cleveland Bobcats series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
