Cleveland Won't Make Playoffs
Sunday, September 16th , 1973
While they stayed relevant until late in the season, a playoff berth wasn't meant to be this season for the Cleveland Bobcats. The club was eliminated from playoff contention today.
"Even though we knew where things stood, it's a disappointment," Bobcats manager Daniel Mays said.
The Bobcats have missed the playoffs 78 times in their 89 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 3rd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1970. In the last 10 seasons, the Bobcats have missed the playoffs 4 times. Cleveland last won the World Series in 1963.
