Salas Snares NBL Rookie of the Year Award Thursday, October 30th , 1975 Things are coming up roses for Daniel Salas of the Cincinnati Packers. This blossoming star finished his first year in the National Baseball League by taking the 1975 Rookie of the Year Award. The 24-year-old second baseman fashioned a .244 batting average with a .369 on-base percentage, solid numbers to go with his 9 home runs, 70 RBIs and 77 runs scored. Reid Rodgers of the San Diego Captains finished second in voting, while Antonio Valerio of the Brooklyn Bluebirds finished third. |
