NBL Announces Royal Ricketts Award Monday, October 28th , 1974 Bobby Peters of the Chicago Traders might be an old man, but he can still pitch with the best of them. Today the 35-year-old hurler snagged the National Baseball League Royal Ricketts Award honors for his outstanding 1974 performance. He posted a 2.19 ERA with 17 wins, 10 losses, 177 strikeouts and 49 walks in 271.2 innings. Skip Crawford of the Chicago Traders finished second in voting, while Bob Trout of the St. Louis Explorers finished third. |
