American Baseball League Top Player Is Tapia

When it came to hitting the baseball, Bobby Tapia had few peers in the American Baseball League this year. The gifted left fielder for San Francisco tagged opposing pitchers for a .322 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1974. Included in his season stats were 175 hits, 47 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs, 70 runs scored and 101 RBIs.
Jorge Luna of the Toronto Hurons finished second in voting, while Rick Lintner of the New York Empires finished third.
