Pobladores Sit Atop American Baseball League Western Division Wednesday, September 20th , 1961 The Los Angeles Pobladores are champions of the American Baseball League Western Division, but don't plan the parade quite yet. "It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the World Series," said reliever Drew McDermott. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in Los Angeles." The club's record currently sits at 100-51. It is the team's 4th division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 2nd Major League Baseball championship. Team manager Kurt Peterson said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff. |
