May's ABL Batter of Month Award Announced Monday, June 1st , 1964 To survive in the bigs, you've got to be a scrapper like Armando Landa. It never pays to take a day off from the batting cages or to shrug off the advice of the hitting coach. It all paid off today as Baltimore's first baseman pinned down the American Baseball League Batter of the Month trophy today. He hit .321 in May collecting 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Thus far this year Landa has hit .290 with 9 home runs and 30 RBIs. |
