Bitting Wins NBL Player of the Week Monday, April 19th , 1976 Not every ball that came off Jim Bitting's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Denver Burros. For his exploits, Bitting was named this week's National Baseball League Player of the Week award. The Denver center fielder put up 12 hits in 24 at-bats and no home runs while hitting .500 with 9 RBIs and 3 runs scored. |
