Drillers Heading to League Championship Series
Major League Baseball pundits who figured the Divisional Round between the Houston Drillers and San Francisco Seagulls would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Houston coming out on top thanks to a 3-2 win in the deciding game at Mission Field, to wrap things up 4-3.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Drillers left fielder Mike Lockhart, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Lockhart had 11 hits for a .379 average. He had 1 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Houston Drillers will play against the Detroit Wolverines in the next round. Detroit won their series against the New York Empires 4 games to 3. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
