Boston Terriers starter David Juarez found his groove in his team's 9-3 win over the New York Empires. New York, with the loss, is 4-3.
Boston right fielder Jeff Whitlock contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Terriers ahead, 4-2.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Whitlock said (again).
