Quakers Use Late Score to Top Knickerbockers, 4-3
|
The Philadelphia Quakers defeated the New York Knickerbockers by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Jamie Robinson. Robinson was 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Quakers on the day. Philadelphia reliever Darrell Klug was the winner. His record is now 6-7. Ollie Hundley took the loss. The Quakers raised their record to 29-45.
Robinson had a timely hit for Philadelphia in the top of the ninth. With Philadelphia trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-2 sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-3, Philadelphia.
