Burros Deal Explorers 4-2 Loss
|
Denver Burros starter Keith Nettles hurled his team past the St. Louis Explorers, 4-2. Nettles, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Denver now has a 3-game win streak.
Denver used a well-timed hit by Jim Farrar to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Burros ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We put together a nice win," Nettles said.
