Blockbusters Turn Away Traders, 4-2
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Los Angeles Blockbusters and Chicago Traders.

Skip Crawford pitched well, but the Chicago Traders still lost the game, falling, 4-2, to the Los Angeles Blockbusters at Blockbuster Stadium. Ralph Weintraub got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Basil Anderson earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.

The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from first baseman George Strum. For the game, Strum was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.

Los Angeles has now won 3 straight, while the Traders have lost 4 in a row.
