Boone, Emeralds March to 7-3 Victory
|
Freddie Boone was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Twin Cities Northmen. The left fielder was 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for the Seattle Emeralds. Paul Geary got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Northmen to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0. With the win, the Emeralds have a record of 39-44.
With Seattle leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Boone hit a fastball from Kim Glanden for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 7-1.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Twin Cities skipper Jason Gudim.
