Houston pitcher Rick McStay had a large part in his team beating the Detroit Wolverines, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Larry Bilski picked up his 8th save of the season. Houston has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Chuck Walton was at the plate when Houston scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Drillers to go in front, 4-3.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said McStay.
