Quakers Bridle Eagles, 2-0
|
The Philadelphia Quakers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Tom Reid, who kept Washington hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Quakers win at Monument Field. Paul Massey got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances. The Quakers now have a record of 41-42.
In the top of the fifth, with the game still scoreless, Reid hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Reid said.
