Behind a solid performance from right fielder Carl Jacobs, the Twin Cities Northmen defeated the San Francisco Seagulls, 6-5. Jacobs belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Northmen. The Northmen improved their record to 46-41 with the win over San Francisco.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Twin Cities trailing 5-4, Jacobs hit a sinker from Archie Sereni for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Northmen had a walk-off win.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
