Pitcher Scott Litwak was rock solid in helping the Detroit Wolverines beat the New York Empires, 4-1. The triumph puts Detroit at 48-38 for the season.

Third Baseman Joe Voss made an impact for Detroit, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Larry Stanford in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Voss was 2 for 4 with a triple.

"Scott pitched one heck of a game for us," said Detroit manager Kurt Peterson.
