Montreal Tacks 4-3 Loss on Atlanta
|
Montreal picked up a win at Atlantic Station Field, bumping off the Atlanta Generals, 4-3. Pitcher Lawrence Connor was a major reason the Habitants emerged victorious. Connor got the win, improving to 6-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 6 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Montreal is now 42-46, Atlanta 38-48.
Jim Foulke, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1974, had a direct impact on the outcome. Foulke contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Montreal up, 4-1.
Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
