Wranglers Beaten By Emeralds, 3-2
|
The Seattle Emeralds tallied a win at Puget Field, throttling the Dallas Wranglers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Rob Banas was a big reason for his team's success. The winner was Banas. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Art Stager. Phil Moore closed it out for Seattle, earning his 12th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Emeralds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when first baseman Dave Robertson hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Art Stager and made the score 1-0, Emeralds. Robertson was 1 for 4.
After the game, Seattle manager Mark Velez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Seattle is now 41-47, while Dallas is 45-43.
