The Chicago Hawks knocked off the Los Angeles Pobladores, 7-5, at Hyde Park Stadium. Don Bozza hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. The Hawks saw their record improve to 32-58.

With Chicago leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Bozza hit a slider from Jim Arndt for a run-scoring double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 2-0.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Bozza told the Chicago Daily News.
