Drillers Win 5th Straight, Take Down Wranglers, 5-3
|
The Houston Drillers picked up a win at Bluff Park, knocking off the Dallas Wranglers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Danny Prentice played a key role in the triumph. Prentice went the distance for Houston. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. The second-place Drillers have won 5 straight games.
Houston used a well-timed hit by Glen Carpenter to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Drillers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I always intend to finish what I've started," said Prentice.
