Detroit Gets 3-0 Road Win
|
Detroit and Atlanta got after it at Atlantic Station Field.
In a tight contest between the Detroit Wolverines and the Atlanta Generals, Jim Bryant was the determining factor. The Detroit right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-0 win. Fred Harrison got the save, the 1st for him this season.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from first baseman Troy Stallings. For the game, Stallings went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Detroit a 2-0 lead.
Detroit manager Kurt Peterson commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
Now 3-5, the Generals have gotten off to a poor start.
