Dairymen Stumble, Lose to Explorers
|
St. Louis Explorers starter Bob Trout was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Milwaukee Dairymen, 8-3. In 8 innings, Trout surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. St. Louis is now 43-52.
The Explorers got a big hit from second baseman Dave Bieler. In the bottom of the sixth, Bieler smacked a 2-run double off Milwaukee pitcher Andy Campbell. It was his 10th double of the season. Suddenly, the Explorers were ahead, 4-3.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Trout. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
