In a seemingly effortless performance, William Matz of the Detroit Wolverines shot down the Atlanta Generals, 7-0, on 1 hit.

"William was just locating so well and using his pitches," Detroit manager Alex Wobbema said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Matz recorded 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
