Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Pobladores
|
The Chicago Hawks got a sterling performance from pitcher Diego Favela, but the Los Angeles Pobladores still prevailed, 5-3. Favela threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Mike Myers got the win, improving to 1-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The save went to Leon Fairley, his 2nd this season.
Greg Leggett, the 25-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Leggett contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Los Angeles up, 5-3.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Leggett.
The win gives the Pobladores a record of 37-71.
