Habitants Fall Short, 1-0, at Detroit

The Montreal Habitants went down to defeat to Juan Rodriguez and his Detroit teammates. The final score was 1-0, in favor of the Wolverines. Rodriguez yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-10. Detroit has now won 3 in a row.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from right fielder Pete Morrison. For the game, Morrison went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Detroit a 1-0 lead.
"Juan did a nice job," said Wolverines manager Alex Wobbema.
