The Pittsburgh Industrials rode a solid performance from 30-year-old starting pitcher Dennis Visco to a win, beating the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 4-1, at Allegheny Field. Pittsburgh, at 70-39, is 6½ games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Carlos Chavez had a game-changing hit. The Industrials center fielder slammed a 2-run single off Damon Rutherford, making the score 4-1, Pittsburgh.

"I'm happy we won," said Visco. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
