Lords Rally For 3-1 Win
|
Montreal got a valiant performance from pitcher George Drake, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Lords. Baltimore won the game, 3-1. Drake threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Brian Alfieri earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 10-6. Burt Lipp earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Baltimore used a timely hit from Jim Pavlik to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lords ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Lords manager Jordan Wells, "I like our chances."
Baltimore now has a record of 63-47 with the win.
