Drillers Lose By a Run at Chicago, 3-2
The Chicago Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Kurt Schott, who stymied the Houston offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Hyde Park Stadium. The Hawks saw their win-loss record go to 68-92. At the same time, the Drillers fell to 81-79.

Claude McKinney drove in one run for Chicago. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Buddy Miller. It was his 24th RBI of the season.

"Getting the win feels nice," said McKinney. "More importantly, I had a good game."
