Victory Takes Blockbusters to 64-61
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, knocking off the Milwaukee Dairymen, 4-2. Starting pitcher Larry Messenger was a big reason why. The 4th-place Blockbusters have won 4 in a row.
Dennis Black, who finished 4th in the NBL in wins above replacement with 6.8 in 1959, aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"It was a solid team effort," said Black after the game.
