In a close game at Independence Field, the Kansas City Bulls edged the New York Knickerbockers, 5-4. Kansas City left fielder Chris Taylor stood apart with his performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Andy Luce snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-6 on the season. Bruce Owen suffered the loss. The current losing streak for New York has reached 4 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Taylor hit a slider from Bruce Owen for a solo home run. The Bulls, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
