Bobcats Win, 7-5, Versus Milwaukee
|
The Cleveland Bobcats weathered an outstanding game by Milwaukee center fielder Bill Malstrom to topple the Dairymen, 7-5. Malstrom went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Joe Clabaugh in relief. His record improves to 11-7. Archie Sereni took the loss. The Bobcats now have a record of 73-52 with the win over Milwaukee.
Benito Olivas, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in triples with 8, helped out the Cleveland cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Olivas, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
