Hawks Get One-Run Win at Atlanta
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Chicago Hawks and the Atlanta Generals, 26-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Haskett was the difference-maker. The Chicago left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Ron Woods recorded the save, his 11th. The Generals, now 64-65, have lost 5 straight.
With Chicago leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Haskett hit a run-scoring single off Atlanta hurler Bill Davis. It was the 10th hit of the season for Haskett and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie. "Obviously."
