Hawks Fall Short, 4-3, at Seattle
The Seattle Emeralds locked up a win at Puget Field, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 4-3. On the mound for Seattle was right-hander Paul Geary. He played a major role in the triumph. Geary picked up the win for Seattle, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-9. Carroll Reynolds locked down his 13th save.

Ray Allen helped out the Seattle cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop was 1-3 with a double and a walk.

After the game, Seattle manager Mark Velez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
