The Twin Cities Northmen outlasted Felipe Chavez and the Chicago Hawks, 9-8. Chavez was impressive in the loss. The Chicago second baseman went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The loss drops Chicago to 7-6.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Pete Walker came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Chicago pitcher Angel Villatoro, he hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Twin Cities on top, 7-6.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jason Gudim said.
