Brooklyn turned a fine outing from starter Damon Rutherford into a victory over the St. Louis Explorers at Flatbush Park. The final score was 8-2. The third-place Bluebirds have won 4 straight.

Rutherford was effective for Brooklyn, seldom allowing the Explorers to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 105 pitches over 9 innings. He limited St. Louis to just 2 runs on 4 hits.
