Baltimore right fielder Bobby Capps was instrumental in helping the Lords triumph, 7-5, over the Houston Drillers. Capps went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The 6th-place Lords have won 6 consecutive games.

The Drillers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Lords going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old shortstop Mike Caito came to the plate. Caito hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 curveball from Houston hurler Syed Farooqi. It was Caito's 9th double of the year.
