Seagulls Victorious at Toronto, 2-1
|
The rain did not keep San Francisco and Toronto from finishing their game.
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Toronto Hurons. San Francisco won it, 2-1. San Francisco starter Jerry Patrick was in command. Patrick, now 19-4, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.
Jose Sosa, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in triples with 11, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sosa contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Patrick.
San Francisco leads the American Baseball League Western Division by 7½ games.
