Powell Shackles San Francisco in 2-1 Pobladores Win
|
Bob Powell pitched a gem in leading Los Angeles to a 2-1 victory over the San Francisco Seagulls. Larry Seger got the save, the 1st for him this season. San Francisco is 8-7 after the defeat.
Powell, the Los Angeles left-hander, went 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He collected 5 strikeouts.
"We were in it," said San Francisco manager Al Borie. "We just didn't score enough runs."
